i love pistachios (as many of you know). ben and i were eating some last night and one of the shells was closed-no crack available to open it up. normally i would just throw this one away BUT this particular company has a guarantee that all their pistachios will be slightly open so you can crack them all the way and enjoy their amazing wonderfulness.
SO....I took that little nut home, taped him to a note card with my address, the proof of purchase, and a little note saying: "This pistachio is unable to be opened". I then stuck it in an envelope and promptly mailed it out. According to the company they will send me a free box of pistachios and how the heck could I ever pass that up!!
