chicago marathon 2006

im tired...long day....mom and i went at about 6 and took the el up to the start line. we watched from randolph street bridge as the runners started. its so amazing..the amount of runners AND spectators....so much fun! after that we walked from about mile 2 back to moody..to mile 3. we collected so much great clothing!! we had bought these big "lawn waste" bags and so we were able to STUFF those things full and drag them behind us...it was so funny...we ended up being towards the back of everything and we were right along there with the streets and sanitation dept.HA! people pry thought we were part of them. so....then we sat at Moody for awhile, dropped off our loot...took the el back down towards the finish line, met up with nik and then went to buckingham fountain to reunite with my dad. My dad did great. He was hoping for 3 hours 30 minutes and he made it in 3:32:14.....so pretty good! And in his age group, 60-64. he was 18th out of 313 people and about 4000 something out of 39,000 runners..im pretty proud of him. So after we met him we all walked back to moody. it was so chilly out there today at times! but we handled it well. After mom left i went to dads hotel and took him out to Coldstone Creamery for a little treat:) we got the cake batter remix or something like that..it was SO stinking rich i almost puked!! so then i took him back so he could continue to rest. So...its been a tiring weekend....running over a deer, walking all over downtown, collecting clothes..kinda like i ran a marathon--j/k.

mom and i also kept seeing dead animals all weekend...BESIDES the deer yesterday....3 dead birds, skunk , racoon..im hoping its some type of good luck..im not sure what that would be..but hopefully good:)-ha
